Lessons
community class
Ages 16+ | Beginner Friendly | $100
Community wheel lessons are open classes. You'll receive a demonstration outlining the steps to throwing (centering, forming, pulling walls and shaping). Then, you'll work at a wheel alongside others while we coach you through the process. There is a max of 8 people in a community wheel lesson plus an instructor. The lesson includes one piece to keep. Add'l work $10/piece. You'll select your glaze color and your work will be ready in 3-5 weeks. Clean up required.
Private lesson
Ages 12+ | Beginner Friendly | Prices Vary
Enjoy a personalized pottery experience tailored to your goals. Whether you're brand new to clay or looking to refine your skills, our private lessons provide one-on-one instruction in a relaxed, supportive environment. Learn at your own pace with guidance from one of our experienced instructors. Perfect for individuals, couples, families, or small groups looking for a unique creative experience.
multi-week courses
Ages 16+ | Beginner Friendly | All Levels Welcome | $500
Build your skills and confidence in clay over four weeks of hands-on instruction. Designed for beginners and those looking to strengthen their foundation, this series guides you through every step of the pottery process from throwing on the wheel to trimming and glazing your finished pieces. With small class sizes and personalized instruction, you'll leave with new skills, lasting memories, and functional pottery you created yourself.
4-week wheel course
HAPPY HOUR
Ages 21+ | Beginner Friendly | $85
Join us for an "informal" Happy Hour class. You'll get a quick and dirty demo on centering, forming, pulling walls and shaping. Then, you'll work at a wheel alongside others while we coach you through the process. Happy Hour includes one piece to keep. Add'l work $10/piece. You'll select your glaze color and your work will be ready in 4-5 weeks. If you're over 21, you're welcome to BYOB.
Clay & slay Queer Nights
Ages 16+ | Beginner Friendly | $85
Join us for Clay & Slay—a fabulous night of mud, mayhem, and masterpieces at The Mudd House! Get your hands dirty, craft a stunning ceramic piece (yours to keep!), and pick your glaze. Extra creations? Just $10 each. Your art will be ready in 4-5 weeks, and if you're 21+, BYOB to keep the vibes flowing. Open to all queens, kings, non-binary royals and everyone in between!

At The Mudd House, we offer a handful of specialty workshops that include clay foraging, large-scale throwing, handbuilding workshops, glazing techniques & more.

*a 20% gratuity will be automatically added for all parties and private events*
Here's a little breakdown of our gratuity structure for reference:We close our booking calendar for private parties so no one else is able to book during your allotted time
The 20% gratuity is an additional required cost on top of the package price for all private parties (similar to how some restaurants include gratuity for large parties)
Your instructors keep 100% of their tips.
